Linear Park: Plot Lines

Our winning scheme for Linear Park in Leyton is part of Making Places, an initiative funded by Waltham Forest Council to deliver creative projects across the borough.

Plot Lines traces the pattern of previous houses along the more than half a kilometer of park in strips of lavender, with historic stories inscribed on plaques amongst meadow grasses and flowers.

A friends group will be established and supported to plant small community gardens. The work will be coordinated with the Enjoy Waltham Forest street improvement project.

This project is a collaboration between Matter Architecture and the artist Lucy Harrison, building on our knowledge of the borough and experience of working with communities to explore social history.
